The Back Bumper of Your Vehicle

This time of the year can be very irritating.  Traffic, malls, shopping, rude people, weather, relatives, schedules, office parties and those strings of lights that always seem to have a short in them, somewhere, can drive you over the edge.    If you’re not careful, you can find yourself hoping for the season to be over, soon!

For me, it’s always a matter of perspective, of focus.  Remembering what’s important and what’s not.  Fact is, most of what irritates us, is not that important.  We sometimes forget to keep the main thing,  the main thing.  Don’t we?

Lest we forget, the profound is often seen on bumper stickers.  “JESUS! THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!”   Still, one of my all-time favorites.  And, while I’m thinking about it, the back bumper of your vehicle is available to communicate what’s important to you.  Everyone else uses that space to  say what’s on their minds, why not Christians?

Everything else should  take a back-seat to the central focus of Jesus’ birth and His birthday party!   After all, it was the angels who announced His birth…think of it, angels!...when they said,  “…good news…great joy … for all people…today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”  Luke 2:10-11 (NLT)

There you have it, good news,  great joy, all people, a Savior, the Messiah…the Lord!  Wow, that’s what  you call, a birth announcement!  So, instead of getting caught up in the hassles of the season, we have been working hard to share the good news of God’s love, acceptance and forgiveness with Native Americans from Celilo Village on the banks of the Columbia River in Oregon to the Rose Bud reservation in South Dakota. We were able to deliver a total of four truck-loads of groceries, toys, clothes, mattresses and household items.   You play a huge part in making that happen.  You are helping us make a difference in the lives of Indian people and their children.  Thank you for your help and prayers for Frontier Missions.  God bless you,  Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Sincerely,

Rick McPherson, Team Leader
