It's been a habit for a long time. . Early in the morning, I push the button and the coffee maker does its thing. It's one of those brushed stainless models with black trim. My wife regularly prepares the ground beans and fills the reservoir at the end of each day and gives me the gift of convenience for the early morning. After all, how tough is it to just push the button? Somehow, I need to repay her.
With my Harley-Davidson mug filled to the brim, I retreat to the basement and begin the day with my best friend. He talks to me through the many letters that he intended for me to read and I talk to him. It's special. When I think of who he is and how he invites me to be with him, well, how could I refuse?
Sometimes I write in my Day-timer what he says and refer to it through the day. It's down there at the bottom of the page in the To Be Done Today area, highlighted in yellow. Mostly it's for my eyes only. I often think of them as delicious treats that my wife has put in my lunch, only better. If you're really nice I'll share.
Thing about a treat, is you never know how a person will receive it. Smile, turn up your nose, grimace, raise your eyebrows, say something, say nothing, be gracious.you never know. But, sharing is way better than hoarding. So, share I will. Enjoy!
".be strong and steady, always enthusiastic about the Lord's work, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless." 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NLT)
"Call unto me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3 (NLT)
"Be on guard. Stand true to what you believe. Be courageous. Be strong. And everything you do must be done with love." 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NLT)
"Oh, what a wonderful God we have! How great are his riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his methods! For who can know what the Lord is thinking? Who knows enough to be his counselor? And who could ever give him so much that he would have to pay it back? For everything comes from him; everything exists by his power and is intended for his glory. To him be glory forevermore. Amen." Romans 11:33-36 (NLT)
