Dear Friends: This month our communication is about change! Included in this envelope are two other letters, one is from Carl Maier, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Frontier Missions and the other is from Darrell Kennedy, who has served this ministry for eight years and most recently as the President & CEO. Darrell and Naomi Kennedy have announced their retirement plans. Our prayers are for them as they begin a new chapter in their lives, allowing them extra time for each other and their family. They have served this ministry with dignity and devotion and we will all miss them. God bless you, Darrell and Naomi, we love you! When I think of changes in leadership, I’m reminded of some of the biblical examples: Moses to Joshua; Elijah to Elisha and Paul to Timothy come to mind. In each case the new leader was filled with questions and wonder. No one arrives at leadership responsibilities with pride and arrogance. Rather, each new leader calls out to God for His sovereign help. Certainly true in my case. With this new assignment, may I deliberately ask for your help? Please include my name and our team at Frontier Missions on your daily prayer list. We need your prayers, dear friend! “Without prayer, we can not; without prayer, God will not !” There are great spiritual victories to be won in the days ahead, but only if we will pray. We have some immediate plans for this Christmas to help Native Americans on the reservations. Yakama, Nez Perce and Lakota Sioux are all in desperate need. We can provide groceries, clothes, blankets, household items and toys for the children. To do it we need help from friends like you. When you write a check or send a gift we are able to do ministry and help Native Americans. The costs of diesel fuel, radio broadcasts, insurance coverage and administration continue. Your financial help enables us. Thank you for praying and asking the Lord what you can do to help now. What we can accomplish together is so much more than any of us can do alone. So, thanks for being a part of the team and for everything and anything that you can do. And remember, “He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” I Corinthians 15:57-58 (NIV) Sincerely, Rick McPherson

My Dear Teammates,
During this past Sunday morning church
service, the pastor said from the platform, “God is good!” Immediately, there
was a response from someone in the congregation who answered, “all the time!”
God is good all the time, Teammate. He did not promise that it would be
easy, only that he would be with us in the good times and also in the bad
times. His promises are true and we can take them to the bank of
Heaven!
Things are moving at a fast pace here at
Frontier Missions. One of the big thrills is our rapidly expanding thrift
store. If you haven’t been out yet, plan to stop by. The store is located in
the east end of our warehouse office. One customer said we should not call it a
thrift store, because most of our merchandise is new. We have everything from
clothing to furniture, and it is all at bargain prices, some things at
really bargain prices! The items change on a daily basis, so put us on
your shopping route. The good part is, that everything that comes in through
the store, goes right back into the Mission, buying fuel for the trucks and
making it possible to reach more precious Indian people for Jesus. The Word
says, “By any means, win some!”
Another area of excitement is our work at
White Swan, Washington, on the Yakama Reservation. Our thrift store manager,
Jan Cousins, along with her husband, Pat and her daughter, Maria, has a real
burden for that needy reservation. They are working with Babe, a born again
Indian lady who has a burden for her own people. We are in the process of
setting them up with their very own store, that the Natives call a “thrifty”
store. Our point man for White Swan, Hub Mardock, is convinced that God answers
prayer. He is thrilled with the renewed partnership and vision of Frontier
Missions.
Teammate, every prayer you pray and every check you
send, helps make this all a reality. We could not make it without you. I know
that you have many places to send your money. Please remember that our very own
Native American people, who live on American soil, are among the neediest
people in the world. Would you pray and ask God what He would have you to do?
I believe that if you would pray that prayer, and then do what God asks you to
do, all our needs would be met.
May God richly reward and bless you,
Darrell Kennedy, President

My Dear Teammates,
First of all, I would like to thank you for being a member
of the Frontier Missions team! Some of
you have been with us for more than 30 years and some have just recently joined
the team. I would like to give you a
scripture verse that we shared with the employees and volunteers just this
week. It is from II Corinthians 9:9
(NLT) and it says, “Godly people give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will never be
forgotten.” Does that encourage you
today? It does me! Nothing that we do for our precious Native
Americans goes unnoticed by God. I was
humbled a few days ago when a man sent in a response to our appeal letter. He said that he was sending all he could and
he enclosed one dollar and two quarters. I showed it to Rick McPherson and we were both moved emotionally. Rick said, “I think that this is undoubtedly
the widows mite”. Teammate, God will
bless that offering as much as He will the checks for several thousand dollars!
My heart is heavy today. In the past few weeks we have experienced attacks from the enemy like I
have never seen during my many years at Frontier Missions. During the past few days, seven windows and
one of our front doors have been shot out. Also, during the same time period, we have discovered that 188 company
checks have been stolen. This took place
some months ago, and we just recently discovered it. Two of the checks have appeared on the
streets for amounts just under one thousand dollars. One person is in jail and the detectives have
leads on the other crimes. Teammate, God
will not be mocked and whatsoever a man sows, he also reaps. I believe that Frontier Missions is a vine of
God’s planting and He will not allow these deeds to go unpunished.
In spite of all the enemy is trying to do, we are moving
ahead. We continue to have a positive
impact on the hearts and lives our Native American brothers and sisters. If we had more, we could do more, but we are
stretching each dollar as carefully and prayerfully as we possibly can.
One of the bright spots is our work on the White Swan
Reservation with the Yakama Tribe. For a
number of years, one of our teammates, Hub Mardock, has had a burden for this
reservation. With much prayer and
planning, Jan Cousins, our thrift store manager, along with her husband Pat,
made a trip to White Swan. You can read
more about this endeavor elsewhere on our web site. Our plans are to work with Babe, who is a
Native American, to help them open their own thrift store. Will you pray with us that God will help us
work out all the details that will help these precious people help themselves? Babe is a devoted Christian lady who has a
real burden for her own people.
Pray for us, Teammate, as never before. The darkest hour is just before the dawn!
Darrell Kennedy, President

My Dear
Teammates,
July 10, 2007
My heart is filled with praises to the Lord and I say
with the Psalmist, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His
holy name!"
I would like to express my love and appreciation,
Teammate, for all that you do, and have done, for Frontier Missions. You are
responding so well to my last appeal letter, regarding our summer outreaches.
Many of you wrote notes and assured us of your prayers and love, and some of you
just noted, on the memo, that your check was for diesel fuel or that it was for
the outreaches. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
I would like to tell you a little about our recent trip
to the Nez Perce Reservation in Lapwai, Idaho. This was the seventh year in a row
that we were invited back and what a time we had! Our team was headed up by
Rick McPherson, our V.P. of
Operations, Marv Boettcher, our Field Director, Greg
Kennedy, our Marketing Manager, and Jan Cousins, our Thrift
Store Manager. Sandy and Dave Webb brought over 30 kids from a local church to
hold VBS in the city park each day, and they had the largest bunch of kids than
ever before.
I wish you could have been there, Teammate, to see the
excitement on the kids faces as the big rig pulled up and began to unload box
after box of groceries. The food pantry was bare, except for a few cans of
beans. In 95 degree heat, the kids pitched in and soon had an assembly line
going. When the truck was unloaded and the food was displayed on the shelves,
there were a lot of happy Native American people. Thank you, Teammate, for
making this possible.
Pastor Antonio Smith and his wife Vestal are the pastors
of our host church, the N.A.M.E. Church. They are delightful Native people
and they gave us a very warm welcome. Pastor Tony told our team that the food
was very important to them. He also said it was very important in the Indian
culture that we be invited to the reservation. He told us that basically,
Native Americans still do not like non-natives. He mentioned that we had been
there for seven years in a row and had never asked them for anything. He also
told us that he had used Frontier Missions, many times, as an example of real
Christian love.
On our last day there, we had a big barbeque in the
city park and what a crowd we had. One of the crowning moments of the week was
at the end. One of our team members saw a young Indian boy walking down the
street with his plate piled high with food. When he was asked why he was
leaving the park, he replied that he was taking the plate of food to his
mother. Then he told us that she had not eaten for two days. We took him home
and when we were invited in, his mother showed us that there was no food in the
cupboards. Thank you again, Teammate, for helping us make a difference. God
bless!

June Newsletter...Summer Outreaches Annual Appeal Letter |

My Dear
Teammates, June 6, 2007
My heart is filled with praises to the Lord today! The
little song is going through my mind that says, “Our God is an awesome God, He reigns
from heaven above”! Does that mean the enemy is not fighting? Not
at all. In fact, he has never fought harder, but the Word says, “greater
is He that is in me than he who is in the world”! That’s enough to shout
about, don’t you agree?
This is my annual appeal letter for our summer
outreaches. By faith, we have planned one of our most aggressive
missionary campaigns to our Native American brothers and sisters than ever
before. In fact, the first big rig just returned from our first summer
trip to Whiteclay, Nebraska.
Our Field Director, Marv Boettcher, along with David Gowan, had a great and
successful trip. Marv just told me when they formed a circle and held
hands while they prayed, John Bush wept and said, “this is really doing
something for my people”! Pictures of this trip will soon be posted on
our website at www.frontiermissions.org
By faith, and with your help, Teammates, we have four more
trips planned before this month is over. We are taking a load of
groceries to Jim Blewett and the Nez Perce in Lapwai, another load to Pastor
John Bush, where he ministers to eighteen different out posts, then back to
Lapwai, June 23-29, where for the seventh straight year our young people will
hold VBS in the park, and winding up with a trip south to Williams, Arizona,
where Calvin Bennett is faithfully ministering to the Native American people.
Teammate, every time we pull one of the Western Star big
rigs up to the fuel pumps, it costs over $600 to “fill ‘er up”. Do we
have the money in the bank to buy all that diesel fuel? No, we don’t, but God
does! Would you just pray and ask God if He would have you help us?
One precious Indian man, women, boy or girl who finds God would make it all
worth while.
We need to hear from you soon. There is a new
assurance around Frontier Missions, that God is still on the throne and that He
will move on your heart to send that check, along with your prayers and
support. We cannot make all these trips without your help. A little
later in the summer, if God provides the finances, we plan to attend Crow Fair
at Crow Agency, Montana.
This is the largest gathering of Native Americans in the country, and they do
not allow outsiders, but Pastor Ken Pretty-On-Top has invited us! This
will be Frontiers’ first time there. Please hold us up in prayer.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, Teammates. May
God richly bless you, is my prayer.
Darrell E. Kennedy President
